I’ve been attending weekly art lessons since I was five, so if you ask me about my art education… my answer is my whole life. Doing and exploring art has always felt like a way to express myself, enjoy myself, be seen by others and process my inner world. Especially by painting patiently and capturing by photography. Not alone but socially with others.

What is Art by Sofia Malkamäki for me?

Simply put in words: it is a one girl art startup. I studied media and marketing for the past 5 years (2020-2025) of my life thinking: what will I do when I graduate? Somehow society had given me the thought that doing art would be something I have to do as a hobby on the side / save the career aspect of it for my retirement. But why would I wait my whole life and not at least try to create a career life by doing what I love? After that thought chain I simply started to create. I've been creating actively ever since for over 2 years now.

What Art by Sofia Malkamäki can be for you?

Currently I:

• am working on my first exhibition <3 so you can check some pieces out live in Helsinki :)

• design and sell tote bags, so you can wear them

• teach painting aka hold workshops, so you can let your creativity flow, relax & get in touch with your inner child

• take custom orders / commission, so you can own a piece hand made my me :3
